Departure from Rome with pick-up from your hotel.
Our Gran Tour of the Roman Countryside begins with Palestrina, a town about 40 km from Rome, a real gem with a great added value of historical importance represented by the National Archaeological Museum, housed in the suggestivePalazzo Barberini built on the Sanctuary of the Fortuna Primigenia, inside which we could see, among others, the Mosaic of the Nile. In the archaeological site of Palestrina you will find important finds from the Roman era.
After a break for an “Espresso”, we will proceed to Valmontone for a lunch based on local food!
Our afternoon will continue discovering the excellence of our territory and the various experiences, first of all the “Making Cheese“, are you ready to prepare the cheese of the Roman countryside?
Here a real shepherd, after having explained the whole procedure, will take part in the processing which will be followed by a small tasting. You will find yourself with your hands in dough to make the delicious cheese of the Roman countryside (caciotta and ricotta). Your shepherd’s coat is ready.
Our tour continues towards Olevano Romano, in a charming farmhouse framed by the splendid vineyards and where one of the most famous wines of the area is produced, the Cesanese DOC, an exceptional red wine that you can try together with a selection of local products as: bread cooked in wood, meats and cheeses ……. a wine tasting that you will not forget! Between a taste of wine and a fragrant bite, the sommelier will teach you how to taste wine and you will come back home like real experts!
Always in this beautiful location our chef will prepare a traditional dinner with products at km 0.
Overnight at farmhouse.
After a healthy and nutritious breakfast, we will go to Fumone, where we will visit the wonderful medieval castle, with very ancient and mysterious origins. Here the legend tells that there are no less than 18 ghosts who don’t want to leave this marvelous fortress. Who knows, you don’t meet one!
Lunch in a restaurant housed in a medieval rock, where you will be served traditional Ciociara foods.
In the afternoon our visit continues towards Anagni, called “City of the Popes”. Here we will visit the Cathedral of St. Mary, with the wonderful mosaic floor dating back to the 13th century and the Crypt of St. Magno, one of the most beautiful and important crypts in Europe, so much so that it was named “Sistine Chapel of the Middle Ages“. Next we will also visit the adjoining Palazzo di Bonifacio VIII and the Civic Museum connected to it. During the visit you will find inside an era that has seen intrigues of power, excommunications and internal struggles of opposing factions that aspired to the riches and the maximum papal throne. You will relive the stories of Pope Boniface VIII, Marcantonio “Sciarra Colonna” and King Philip of France, their strategies, anger, greed and pride that characterized these persons.

What’s better than to wake up with a cup of steaming coffee and a breakfast that will remain in your heart as well as the image of the beautiful valleys that surround you?
On your last day in the beautiful Roman countryside we want to leave you with the memory of what most distinguishes us and that made us famous all over the world ……. the taste!
Do you really want to go home without having learned the tricks of how to prepare the real Italian homemade pasta? ……. today our chefs will be you, in this Cooking Class in which you will be protagonists!
Water, eggs and flour are the main ingredients, with the precious support of your hands that will give life to tagliatelle, fettuccine or gnocchi!
Your pasta will be the main dish of the lunch ……. and everything will be accompanied by traditional local foods and excellent wine.
Your wonderful experience is already at the end and after the greetings, we will transfer you back to your hotel in Rome.
