A tour to discover the roman countryside, its history and its traditions.
One of our exclusive tour……something unique for real travelers.
Meet and Great in Rome! …........and departure to the Roman Countryside!
Our first stop is Anagni (1 hour from Rome), the “City of Popes”, here we will visit the Cathedral of St. Mary, with the wonderful mosaic floor dating back to the 13th century and the Crypt of St. Magno, one of the most beautiful and important crypts in Europe, so much so that it was named "Sistine Chapel of the Middle Ages". Next we will also visit the adjoining Palazzo di Bonifacio VIII and the Civic Museum connected to it. During the visit you will find inside an era that has seen intrigues of power, excommunications and internal struggles of opposing factions that aspired to the riches and the maximum papal throne. You will relive the stories of Pope Boniface VIII, Marcantonio "Sciarra Colonna" and King Philip of France, their strategies, anger, greed and pride that characterized these persons.
We will continue our trip to Paliano (15 minutes from Anagni) in a beautiful farmhouse where you will join a Cooking Class.
Water, eggs and flour are the main ingredients, with the precious support of your hands that will give life to tagliatelle, fettuccine or gnocchi!
Your pasta will be the main dish of the lunch ....... and everything will be accompanied by traditional local foods and excellent wine.
After your homemade lunch, we will go to Fumone (half an hour from Paliano), where we will visit the wonderful medieval castle, with very ancient and mysterious origins. Here the legend tells that there are no less than 18 ghosts who don't want to leave this marvelous fortress. Who knows, you don't meet one!
After this scary experience!............we will come back to Rome!
The meeting point will be at your hotel at 09.00 AM
