Overview

Leaving Rome and departure to Naples by High Speed Train.

Descending towards the port of Mergellina and following the coastal road, we arrive in the old fishermen district of Saint Lucia to see Castel dell’Ovo. The city tour continues crossing the historical centre with Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, the Galleria Umberto I and the imposing Maschio Angioino.

Leaving the city, we cross the valley of Mount Vesuvius, to finally arrive in Pompei.

Later we will visit the excavations on foot with a local guide on an archaeological journey through the ancient city. In about two hours you’ll admire what has been discovered in more than 1.700 years, since Pompei was covered by ashes during the eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79.

We can imagine the daily life of the Imperial Age and imagine the panic that heard the people in those last few minutes before the city was so blatantly buried.

At the end of the visit to Pompei we will return to Rome (about 3 hours of travel).
